David E. Boyd
As a young man, Boyd won the National Pee Wee Championship in 1954 and ‘56, then captured the 1959 Florida state high school championship. He was runner-up in the 1959 Southern Amateur. While at the University of Georgia, he was a member of SEC Championship teams from 1961-63, won the SEC Individual Championship in 1962, and served as team captain in 1962. He was selected to the NCAA All-American Golf Team in 1961-62. Boyd was runner-up in both the Southern Amateur and the Georgia Amateur in 1963. He was a member of the USGA Executive Committee from 1994-97, served on the USGA Nominating Committee in 1990, and was a director of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. He is a past president of Peachtree Golf Club.
